Yamaha Fazer 25 launched

India Yamaha Motor on Monday launched the Fazer 25. It is not an all-new motorcycle but a faired, sport-tourer version of the existing FZ25 street bike.
Khodrocar - Unlike the semi-faired 150cc Fazer, the newly-launched 250cc model features a full-body front fairing for better aerodynamics. Another addition is the new LED daytime positioning lights, while the main headlamp unit remains unchanged.

Besides these aesthetic changes, there is no mechanical update in the motorcycle. The bike seems to provide a very similar ride experience to that of the FZ25 but with the advantage of wind protection.

Bolted on a diamond type frame, the Fazer 25 is suspended on a monocross rear suspension.

The company claims it's a versatile machine that one can use for daily commuting as well as weekend rides. But the primary focus is on a comfortable ride experience.

Powering the Yamaha Fazer 25 is the 250cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, mated to a five-speed gearbox. The motor gets an oil-cooler for enhanced heat dissipation and a fuel injection system for better response.

The two-valve engine makes 20.9PS of power at 8,000rpm and delivers a peak torque of 20Nm at just 6,000rpm.

Bolted on a diamond type frame, the Fazer 25 is suspended on a monocross rear suspension and 41mm telescopic forks up front. The lightweight alloys come shod with 100/80 section front and 140/70 section rear tubeless tyres. Braking duties are handled by a disc brake unit each on the front and the rear wheel.

The bike directly competes with the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, while it may also eat into the sales of some other models in the similar price range. The Fazer 25 is open for bookings from today.
